Community Solar Solicitors

Posted on August 11, 2025

Town Council has heard concerns from residents about individuals going door to door soliciting and saying they are from Delmarva Power.

If anyone comes to your door saying they are from Delmarva Power, they are required to produce an identification badge with their name, position, and showing that they are employed with Delmarva Power.  Most of the time anyone working for Delmarva Power will also be in a vehicle with the Delmarva Power logo.

There are solicitors that have been in Town attempting to sign residents up with Community Solar projects.  These individuals do not work for Delmarva Power and they are prohibited from saying they work for Delmarva Power.  They are required to show you an ID badge, which should provide the name of the company they are employed by.  You can find additional information about Community Solar at the Delaware Public Service Commission website at https://depsc.delaware.gov/consumer-information/, which includes information about door to door marketing practices and FAQs about the Community Solar program.
